The advantage of a Wireless Cellular Phone over a Canon Digital Camera is that the Wireless Cellular Phone can be constantly connected to the Internet. Many manufacturers are taking advantage of this.
Nokia includes a Flickr client with their N series Wireless Cell Phones that allows users to upload images with just one click.
That is a whole lot easier than shooting the image, copying it to the computer and then uploading it. This is not difficult but first you need to find the cable plug it into your computer and your Canon Digital Camera. Many will take pictures over a period of time until their Canon Digital Camera reaches its maximum capacity and then they will make the effort to download the pictures,
When you take an image with a smart phone, the Flickr app takes that image and uploads it without you doing anything. The professional photographer might object to this feature but would probably use the feature if they could control and program where their pictures went.
