Location is determined by triangulation of 3 or more satellites In a Wireless Cellular Phone, this will allow operators to immediately receive your location when you call the emergency number 911. Most new phones come with a GPS device as required by the FCC but many Wireless Plans have chosen not to active the device. To activate your device ask your Wireless Cellular Phone carrier how to do this and if your Wireless Cellular Phone is a Cell Phone GPS.
Most phones with "GPS" in fact use A-GPS technology. The "A" stands for assisted, and means that the Wireless Cellular Phone relies on the Wireless Cell Phone network for help in determining location.
